Hey Ben, what types of "little" things did you run into in your b16 swap? I just want to know what to watch out for when I begin putting my b16 in.

the b16 is not a drop in. It requires a motor mount kit, linkage and some wiring changes for vtec. smile I am doing it now so if you have any other questions just email me or post them. smile

well, some of my little things turned into BIG things. i rebuilt my motor completely, including new piston rings and new bearings. reassembled motor with all new gaskets, water pump, timing belt..everything you can think of. gotta pay for the new fluids, various hoses that are corroded, clamps, tools you don't have but you need, gotta find a hoist, gotta have a good workspace w/ heat cuz it's cold outside, etc. hoses and crap were/are the hardest part for me..i had a heater hose leaking and got coolant everywhere. i had to unbolt my cat and adjust it so the jdm headers would bolt up. new clutch and flywheel wasn't cheap. the wiring wasn't that bad though. i used the hasport wiring harness, although i could have made one w/ no problem. two pins fit right into the ecu connectors..i just cut and spliced the other two in. wow, this is long..sorry about rambling on so much.

    Thanks Ben. smile

I am not doing a total rebuild but I am doing the minor stuff like timing belt, water pump, thermostat, hoses, cap and rotor, plugs and wires. My heater hoses look pretty good since they were just replaced about a year ago with the zc swap. I have the clutch, mount kit, linkage, and wiring harness. So i think I am set and ready to go. biggrin

See if I do get the Zc I want to do the whole rebuild, I want everything to be in front of me so I don't have to play with it as much in a little space. Can you get better pistons and rings things like that? I want the motor to take a beating if I want to give it one. Like if i go turbo or noz. If they do who makes them? And if you know how much? rolleyes

Well thanks for all your help. I am learning allot. biggrin

Well Chris...if you REALLY want to rebuild your ZC and do it right, I would recommend that you get 13secondcivic's ZC rods and pistons which he is selling...they are not cheap, but the quality sounds top-notch and should take whatever damn beating you wish to throw at it.
I am preparing for a ZC swap also, and plan to do some rebuilding and checking of the motor cuz I don't want to have to mess with it once it is in the car. But I don't have the $$ to spend on Vince's parts, for my application it doesn't seem worth it...I don't plan to turbo or NOS my ZC, so if it is rebuilt with stock parts, that is good enough for me.
Speed (and durability) always costs money...how fast and far do you want to go?
